Metta Labs is a systems venture studio. We build companies, nonprofits, and operational ecosystems for the intersectional problems most people have stopped trying to solve. From reproductive justice to climate change to refugee response, we will find the answer and build a solution.

Metta Labs is a systems venture studio for problems that don’t fit neatly into a single sector.

We facilitate, staff, build operations, help teams raise capital, and implement scale strategy. We are drawn specifically to complex, intersectional challenges: layered problems where poverty, policy, gender, climate, and care overlap and resist any single solution.

Metta Labs works to create what we’ve dubbed as an Ecosystem of Care. We bring together governments, nonprofits, corporations, and communities to produce real and scalable project that act as operations of change for a better future. We do this by stripping ourselves of limitations and acting as a consulting firm, design agency, and a build agency. By giving ourselves the ability to think, do, and build, we can tackle complex, intersectional problems that other agencies cannot do alone.

HOW WE WORK

We build from the ground up.

We start every new project by asking the same questions: who's already working on this, how can we make what exists more effective, and what do we need to invent to fill the gap? We then create a project outline based on four main step, ensuring that we work backwards from our outcomes, not forward from assumptions.

  • Before building anything, we identify who is already working on a problem and what they've learned. We conduct deep stakeholder mapping, evidence reviews, and human-centred research directly with the communities most affected.ion text goes here

  • We bring together non-profit, public sector, and for-profit stakeholders — then facilitate the hard work of aligning incentives. Real, operational alignment: who does what, how success is measured, how credit is distributed.

  • We build the companies and programs — not just the plans. This means staffing teams, establishing operations, creating business models, and developing the technology and products that make solutions real.

  • Every solution is tested with real communities before it scales. We prototype, collect evidence, iterate, and build the case — scientifically and operationally — for expansion. We then design the capital strategy and partner architecture to take proven models across geographies.

Columbia

The problem: women in poverty need support raising their children and building economic independence, simultaneously. No single organization was doing both. Metta Labs facilitated the co-creation of a new integrated model for migrant families in Colombia, making it possible for woman in poverty to become connected with the right support networks to help themselves & their families thrive.
